The last official day of summer may be a couple weeks away, but Candace's summer of theatre adventures in New Hampshire has come to a close. It ended with a bang (almost literally, it was Agatha Christie after all) in The Barnstormers Theatre's production of The Mousetrap, which played to sold out houses during its one week run. The only summer theatre producing eight plays in eight weeks, The Barnstormers is a New Hampshire tradition and the oldest summer Equity theatre in the country. Here's Candace as Mollie Ralston, receiving troubling news about her husband Giles.

The centerpiece of the summer was The Merry Wives of Windsor, which Candace directed. It also played to large, enthusiastic houses and was Advice To The Players' best-attended summer show to date - all a testament to the fine performances by the entire cast, and the beautiful costume and set design by Carolyn Boldt.

Kicking the summer off was a supreme acting challenge - playing the world's only consulting detective in Sherlock Holmes and The Case of Hamlet or Yorick Kidding Me!  Of the many exciting discoveries Candace made in the course of this campy production, the most surprising to her was that she actually looks like David Niven.
